Türkiye has set its sights on fostering tech startups that rapidly scale from the startup phase to achieve unicorn status—a term commonly used to refer to companies reaching a billion-dollar valuation globally. As part of its National Technology Initiative, the Ministry of Industry and Technology introduced the Turcorn 100 program with the aim of facilitating the expansion of high-growth potential tech ventures into global markets. The 2019 Industry and Technology Strategy Document targeted the establishment of 10 Turcorns by 2023. As of 2022, Türkiye's tech entrepreneurship ecosystem has produced six Turcorns: Peak Games, Getir, Dream Games, Trendyol, Hepsiburada, and Insider. These Turcorns have made a name for themselves on the global stage, contributing to increased exports and attracting foreign investment to the country.

In an effort to cultivate new Turcorns and bolster the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem, the Ministry of Industry and Technology launched the Turcorn 100 Program on December 21, 2022. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, embodies a national vision realized through collaboration among various corporate entities, ecosystem players, and public institutions, rather than merely a governmental endeavor. The Turcorn 100 team, dedicated to supporting early-stage tech startups with high growth potential, tailors its activities to meet the specific needs of scaling technology entrepreneurs.

Aligned with the National Technology Initiative, the Turcorn 100 team works closely with a select number of ventures demonstrating the potential to become Turcorns, providing customized support to expedite their scaling journey and achieve global competitiveness. The program offers tailored assistance to scaling-stage Turcorn candidates with global aspirations, including promotional efforts, mentorship, domain-specific advisory services, access to business networks, and financial resources. The program's 17 stakeholders, representing various expertise areas, offer specialized support to participating startups.

Comprising young professionals, experts, and mission-driven individuals from around the world, the Turcorn 100 team stands ready to support technology entrepreneurs in Türkiye looking to expand globally. With this support, promising Turcorn candidates in Türkiye can rapidly scale, enhancing the visibility and attractiveness of the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem and further encouraging foreign investment in Türkiye.
